NJL Round 2 Div 2 results sorry for the delay but due to such a close finish extra calculations had to be made to separate 2nd & 3rd places by points count back
All credit to Abbie Hurley & Isabel Webb who were unbeaten to win the title for their school, they now go onto the regional finals some time next year.
Abbie Hurley and Isabel Webb were in good form at the London Academy 2 Star Tournament on the 1st September. Both players showed the kind of form that will give them some good results in the coming season, excellent wins by both girls en-route to securing a Silver medal for Isabel in the U15 and Abbie winning the U18 consolation. Once again Alison Webb joined the foray in the Girls U13's event gaining some vital match experience. Great preparation for the girls Junior British League which kicks off in Derby on the 10th & 11th November.
Mathew's first real foray into open tournaments resulted in a very positive day coming second overall in the U12 event losing in the final very close, having had 4 match points to the girl who he beat earlier in the group.
Alison and Isabel Webb took part in the Cippenham Young Players Festival on the 23rd of June 2018 in Slough. Isabel was in good form in the Girls Under 14 where she narrowly lost against Kirsty Maul Cadet Ranked no 10 in England 11-9, 11-9 & 11.9 and Nadia Zoppos the eventual winner 17-15 in the Fifth coming back from 9-4 down and had several match points of her own in the process. Victory against Nadia would of secured the title on count back but it was not to be. There were however 2 wins against local opposition Anna Piercy 3.0 and S Lweis 3.0 which enable Isabel to come third overall. Still a good performance. Alison is improving fast and was competitive reaching the final of the consolation event in the under 12 beating 2 players en route whereby she lost 3.2 in the final.

The Girls! (Isabel, Abbie and Alison) at Byng Hall played in the Burgess Hill 2 Star event on Sunday 10th June 2018 with some great performances. In the U14 event Isabel belighed her ranking and qualified out of her group (beating Abbie, Saskia Keys, Sasha O’Halloran) and then beat No 1 seed Ben Poulter (710 ranking points) Hampshire 3.1 on route to the final where she lost against Arthur Bracken Kent in 4 close games but picked up the silver medal for her achievement. She had the U15 No 3 seed in trouble Harry Yip - Sussex lost 3.1 and against Daniel Broner - Hertfordshire lost game 9 in the fifth. Hopefully these results are a real confidence booster. Well done Isabel
Abbie battled throughout the day and picked the winner of the consolation plate U14 defeating Isaac Eggington – Kent and then Sasha O’Halloran – Sussex in the final. Seeded No 4 Abbie qualified out of her group in first place in the U13 and lost in the Q/F against Eduard Lakatos - Hampshire. This was great match play in preparation for the Nationals U13 in June. We wish her well….
Alison was in action really improving displaying great table control in defeating Adam Halldorsson - Sussex 3.1 and took games off 3 ranked players in the U12 event. Well done Alison.
