BRITISH LEAGUE AND JUNIOR BRITISH LEAGUE
The British League started back in 1979. The initial senior competition came first, and has continued to grow year on year and is now considered by many to be the premier competition of English Table Tennis. Dedicated Junior, Veterans' and Women's competitions were launched to further support the growth of top class table tennis in the UK.
Now in it's 35th season the senior league has 14 divisions, consisting of 112 teams and 800 or more of the UK's finest players. The junior league is so popular entries are now restricted. Any club wishing to enter has to go through a tough play-off weekend where only a few places are up for grabs each season. The women's league has 36 teams comprising 6 divisions. Finally, the veterans' league has grown to the point where the men's event has to have a qualification event, referred to as the Veterans' National League. In total over 2000 of the UK's finest players take part in one or more of the competition formats. |
Byng Hall is passionate about developing and supporting players to compete in this top tier of UK table tennis. Currently Byng Hall has 3 teams in the British League.
Byng Hall now has 1 Women's Teams in the Premiere League. In addition we also have a boys team in Division 4A of the Junior British League and also a Girls team. And a number of our club members also play for other teams in the British League tournaments. |
