The Kent Junior, Senior and Veteran Closed Championships were played at Body and Mind, Canterbury on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th March 2005. William Harrington (Byng Hall) won the U18 Junior Boys title for the first time. Will went on to win a further 3 gold medals by beating team mate Alec Bartlett (Byng Hall) in both the juniors and the under 21 finals, Will also won the "Man of Kent" title restricted to the West and South of the Medway. Heidi Smith (Byng Hall) reached the final of the Mixed Doubles, won the Ladies Doubles partnered by Chloe Dunmall (Byng Hall)) just 15, and to cap a good weekend won the Ladies Singles beating the top seed Gemma Yarnley in the final 11-7, 10-12, 14-12, 11-8. The medal haul continued to come in, when our youngest competitor Jasmin Ould (Byng Hall) put in a marvellous performance by reaching 3 age group finals Jasmin just 10, was runner up in the under 11 category won the under 13’s and was losing finalist in the U15’s.
