Tunbridge Wells League

This season was another successful year for the Byng Hall Club. Byng Hall A won the 1st division for the second consecutive year. By Christmas it was a 3 horse race, with Byng Hall, Rotherfield and Leigh all vying for top spot. Leigh even brought in Andrew Houghton to try and win it for them. The league was decided with Byng Halls wins over Leigh and Rotherfield in their last matches.

Unfortunately the strength of the teams in the 1st division was varied and so there were many very one-sided matches especially for the top teams. As an answer to this an idea was put forward at the AGM to have two man teams, unfortunately when it came to a vote, the required majority was narrowly missed and so the league remains at three man sides. Hopefully the decline in the numbers will not carry on this season, although with the league format remaining the same, it seem inevitable.

Byng Hall also had more success with Bill Bayley getting the trophy for the biggest rating jump over the season. Bill has had some great wins and provided great entertainment for those watching, Bill's always one for playing to the crowd!!!

Alec Bartlett was also voted the most improved junior, which is well deserved after his results in this league along with Super League and the Butterfly Grand Prix.

So well done lads!!!
