London Super Grand Prix

The London Super Grand Prix was held at Crystal Palace Leisure Centre over the weekend of the 28th/29th January. With it being held so close many of the club's players entered the event.

The club's success story of the day was Jurate Brazityte who was runner-up in the Band 2 and winner of the Band 3 events.

Jurate playing in her first ever Grand Prix started the day well with a good win over the experienced and very awkward Val Murdoch in the quarter-finals. The after winning her semi-final match Jurate reached her first ever final. Obviously nervous, Jurate came unstuck against Isobel Sanjurjo, who had won many of the previous Grand Prix. However, it was a great achievement to get to the final in her first Grand Prix.

Later in the day Jurate made up for her earlier disappointment by winning the Band 3 event and by beating the rapidly improving Hannah Hicks of Hampshire.
